Last night was the second round of the fourth annual Law Rocks event held at London's prestigious 100 Club, which has seen the likes of The Sex Pistols and The Clash grace its stage. But yesterday wasn't about the punk bands, it was the turn of the lawyers.
Six law firms
fielded their very best musicians to compete for the title, with
the winner determined by a panel of judges and through audience participation.
And this year's coveted prize went to Howard Kennedy on its inaugural
appearance at the event. Fronted by tax lawyer Anika Hayter,
WhoAreKen'n'Edy (the name has a rather disturbing explanation
here)
beat off competition from the likes of Mishcon de Reya (whose musical
pedigree is such that its Director of Business Development has his own
Jazz FM show) to secure the gong.
WhoAreKen'n'Edy's playlist included such classics as No Doubt's
Dont Speak and
What's up by 4 Non-Blondes.
Congrats to all involved in the event, which raised a nice wodge of cash for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
