The answer appears to be to their clients.

Or at least to Aprirose, a real estate investment company with over £1bn under investment.

A look at the "Team" section of the company's website shows Vinay Veneik's smiling face. He mentions that he "was a partner at City of London law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP where he ran the Aprirose relationship for some eight years before joining them in 2008". Although spookily enough there's no mention of his leaving the firm as a result of being struck off for dishonesty and non payment of stamp duty.

Veneik is apparently not alone at Aprirose in having a chequered past. More to follow on Friday.
