It has been a long time I have walked over Waterloo Bridge, and walked across the bridge at 9.00 PM.The view to the East at night is spectacular. Some prefer the view to the West by parliament.

Probably with you on Waterloo Bridge, but the view from Richmond Park would be another contender IMO

I was struck by all the red lights on cranes and part built buildings, contrasted with all the office blocks that had their shimmering silver lights on, made for a stunning backdrop, There were plenty of tourists taking pics. That said on a nice summer morning, I prefer the view to the West.

Yeah view from Richmond park is tasty also.

Another vote for waterloo bridge. Although I also quite like the view east from the higher floors of citypoint.

the view of Canary Wharf etc from the M11 just inside the M25 is pretty cool
the view from the Top of the Gherkin down skyscraper alley
the view from Primrose hill
the view from the South Bank (as opposed to anywhere else on the southern bank IYSIM)
Any number of little alleys in the city - (what's the one round the back of the Jamaica Inn?)
I quite like seeing the shard on the horizon from a very long way away

Blackfriars Bridge on a summer evening, similar idea to Waterloo Bridge, but you can stop in at the pub on Roupell Street for a pint or two before catching the train home.

Lot of experience with back alleys, Cam m8?

Want a jig-jig Mister? Farthing for a push?

The view from the bridge in St. James's Park towards Horse Guards Parade - with all the cupolas and minarets of Whitehall rising above the trees. Stunning on a sunny day.

1. The Tower of London on a moonlit night
2. From above on the approach over the Thames to City Airport from the west at dusk
3. Crossing Tower Bridge at night
4. From the top of the hill in Greenwich Park on a summer's evening
5. The Houses of Parliament and London Eye at sunset

my old office had a top floor with panoramic views in the foothills of North London. For no clearly obvious reason, all the building services were put on the south-facing side, so there was no view over the city.

I like the view from the Hungerford bridge, not the Waterloo as the view stretches even further.

Also, the view from the top of Richmond Hill down over the Thames, as we went there so often when I was a child.

The easy winners are Primrose Hill and Parliament Hill

For surprisingly good views, standing by the river on the Thames Path at Limehouse Basin is unexpectedly stunning

Some of the best ones are from South London. I think my all time favourite was the one from the temporary grandstand in Greenwich they used for the Pentathlon they use in the Olympics.

One Tree Hill

The top of the Salvation Army training college in Camberwell just outside Denmark Hill station

One Tree Hill is a great shout.

I once rode up it disregarding all the footpaths, just slaying my way through the foliage.

I love those forgotten south London parks.

King Henry's Mound in Richmond Park.

The view of the City from the A20 coming into London as you come over the crest of the first hill after coming off the M25. Swanley?

Blackfriars Bridge is a classic.
