I can slightly understand why they might do this on £20MM plus properties, but not for what is run of the mill type homes and flats in London. Why do they do this, and what is the procedure for applying to get the price?

All seems rather arrogant to me.

Felix, just see where it turns up in the order, if you search by price on rightmove. Should narrow it down quite a lot.

Indeed but there comes a point when one must know the price. Better to know at the outset rather than wasting everyones time with multiple views etc.
Sad yeah but prices still vary a lot. Interstingly if you search chelsea there are £30 MM gaffs, where the Agent is happy to put the price on the particulars.

I think it means "the vendor is a greedy khunt but we still want people to view and this means we can tailor the price to what we think you will pay".

I just keep widening the search area until the property above and below the POA one are about 10p apart !

Santa has a clever idea.

I just ignore such ads on principle. You want to sell? I don't have to buy. You make the running.

Presumably those behind you in the Lidl queue don't appreciate your playa mentality?

I always thought it was to weed out the time wasters who have a very limited budget and just fancy a bit of a gawp at a posh gaff.

Sail you maybe right, but it appears to be creeping in to affordable homes, ie below £2MM.
