Is this the same lot that got caught tapping Merkel's cellphone? Like, you know, a leader of a NATO major ally.

If they didn't have phone taps on Trump Towers as alleged, then they were negligent. It is hard to believe the denials even if proof is lacking.

I'm sure they're all spying on each other, but Germany isn't a member of Five Eyes like the UK. You don't say things like that in public when you're the President, even if GCHQ have discreetly handed over some intercepts about links to Russia.

The "top secret counter intelligence" angle tends to fall apart when you can't trust the man in the White House to stay off the late night Twitter rants.

Well if the anonymous reports to the press are correct, they've been withholding certain info from WH security briefings for a few weeks now.

He's back on Twitter stating that NSA and FBI have told Congress that there was no Russian involvement in US Pres elections.

They said no such thing.

He's just digging himself a deeper hole with every comment.
