Identifying by its ethnicity is just wrong. you should be ashamed.

I'm identified the shops by the ethnicity of the owners and the origin of much of their stock. The was desribed as canned.

But having said that, unless I treated the differently because of it's country of origin I think I'm in the clear.

I'm not a fan of edam but that's not because it's dutch. It's because I don't like it much.

Tinned foods are much maligned. Tinned sardines for example - genius. The perfect thing to find at the back of the larder when the mrs is away and u cant be arsed to go to the ahops. Also a massive fan of tinned baby new potatoes. The only tinned food I dont like is corned beef as far as I can think.

I cut my fingers quite badly on a corned beef tin, which was a proper 1970s type of injury, I thought.

I love tinned sweet corn so much and tins of dressed and lobster.

I used to love mashing corned beef into potatoes with onions and plenty of butter (or, in these new days, some sort of vegetable oil based spread). Love a sardine too - or a pilchard in brine (for some reason the tomato sauce ones put me off).

Canned doe. It's mega. You can get and sheep in tins to. Ewe'll love it m4.

I used to buy a can of olives, a can of anchovies and a can of along with some greek bread with sesame seeds on and feel quite the continental as I dipped the bread in the oil from the anchovie tin and ate them all together.

I expect I'll be disappeared for that sort of thing now.

Those canned foods that came with a metal key which you had to twist through a tab on the top of the tin were somewhat dangerous.

What about the American abomination which is a greasy flabby white whole roast chicken in a can, eh? that will test your commitment...

Oh no. But if I ever see it I might buy it just so I can keep it in the cupboard and look like a man of the world. Next to the canned armadillo and the fish assholes.

Tinned sardines are one of my favourite foods ever.

Waitrose do some with chilli and olive oil. Lush on some crusty bread with a squeeze of lemon for lunch.

Tinned Italian tomatoes are superior to any fresh tomatoes in a British supermarket.

I can't remember when I last had Primula.

Do they still do it with ham and prawns and stuff?

I might have thought they were real pieces of ham or shrimp many years ago. Now they look like pink stuff from the floor tiles or where someone on the production line got her finger caught in the conveyor belt.

I can't even remember what that stuff tastes like. I'll have to give it another try.
