This off-Broadway show was a huge hit in the States and is over here for a limited run. Running in conjunction with another show called Naked Boys Singing, this is the tamer of the two. Although, only just. The basic premise is that of five nuns, the only ones left in the convent after a sister nun poisoned everyone else, trying to raise money to keep themselves afloat.

They decide to stage a talent show and chaos ensues. All the nuns are played by men and it's probably not the sort of show to take your grandmother to, but it is very, very funny. Directed by Phil Willmott, who is also the theatre critic for Radio 4 show Mind the Gap, it's a mad-cap scramble from one song to another, which include such soon to be classics as: Nunsense: it's habit forming and The Biggest Ain't the Best. The Arts Theatre, 6-7 Great Newport Street, WC2. Sat 10pm, £10-£12
