For some reason BBC haven't got the story up yet.

Prime Minister Theresa May will trigger Article 50 on Wednesday 29 March, starting the process of the UK leaving the EU.

I don't understand how you can set a date for tiggering article 50 - as I understand it there is no magic to it - it is just telling them we are going to leave - surely setting a date is in itself triggering the article?

The Europeans genuinely consider that Brexit is as mad as Trump election - and see them as part of the same global phenomina - difference being the majority of Americans did not actually vote for Trump.

I wonder if Anna remembers our bet sometime around September last year that Article 50 notice would not be served within a year. £50 to Help for Heroes wasn't it?

The Goose, it might still not be. There's a march of very angry European types this Saturday. They may sway the government.

Heh!

Reckon they'll get a Government Legal Service trainee to do the covering letter. Along the lines of:

"Dear Sirs and Madams

Please find enclosed with the letter the following documents:

- Article 50 notice.

Kindly acknowledge safe receipt by returning the copy letter in the addressed envelope.

Yours faithfully

Toby Trainee"

Drops in post tray. Goes for lunch. Comes back and finds the original notice on desk. Re-reads letter and realises there's one document.

Runs down to post room. "Dean, has the post gone yet." "Fck. Fck. Don't worry about it."

the only good thing is May has told us what sort of Brexit to expect, a red white and blue one. Thank Christ. Were it not for that the uncertainty would be fvcking awful for the country.

GBP hasn't really been impacted as markets had already priced it in. The next big moves will be a function of how the negotiations are going. First whiff of WTO and it'll head south.
