D'you reckon the Prosecco Socialists will be more angry about losing the General Election to a Tory landslide than they were about losing the Brexit referendum?

What will the Prosecco Socialists do if Beppe Grillo and the Five Star Band win and take Italy out of the EU?

They can't go back to being Champagne Socialists as conspicuous capitalism is very frowned on. Prosecco will be off the menu too. Surely no-one wants to be a Cremant de Bourgogne Socialist?

Was Cameron holding 3 referendums and one election, and May calling an election within less than 12 months (1) of becoming PM part of the Tory strategy to end democracy?

(1) Not something Callaghan or Brown saw the need to do.

We all know it is the remain side who have been trying to undermine the value of democracy because they don't like the results. Apparently people are too stupid to vote, too old to vote, too racist to vote. Just because you lose doesn't mean it wasn't democratic.

The Gewürztraminer Socialists only like democracy when they win. Whenever the plebs vote for the 'wrong' thing democracy suddenly becomes as unfashionable as, well, sparkling wine from Italy for example.....

Of course we shouldn't end democracy. But elected politicians should stop worrying so much about what the people want and just get on with doing what is good for the people.

Perhaps, although I am not sure their version had the 'elected politicians' bit. At least, not elected in the why I mean it.

Point of order: I am also more of a Malbec socialist.

Blue Nun is a 3-Dux kind of drink.

Point of order on your point of order. 3 Dux does drink Bule Nun, but only in private. You are the reverse. You drink Malbec privately, but Blue Nun in public.

This is in keeping with your "I am a woman of the people, even though I despise them" persona.

I don't even know where you can drink Blue Nun in public. Although I heard Victoria Beckham made a posh restaurant get some for her.

Are you having a laugh?

More of an Aussie Shiraz man myself. Mostly drink beer though; proper stuff, not "craft ale".
