how often do you bin your dish-washing scourer/sponge thingy.

I don't have a set timetable for this kind of thing, because that's menkle.

My new cleaner bins it every week. I think I'm going to have to start hiding it.

heh! and why not? you should have a clear policy matrix for all cleaning-product replacements based on time and use...

(I reckon we chuck ours about every 2-4 weeks. But we have a cunning system where the old one is kept for use for cleaning non-food things (bins etc), to avoid getting the new one manky with the grubbiest things. we write old on the back with a sharpie)

subsidiary question - how many scourers/cloths etc do you have on the go at once?
us 3 scourers 1 x non-stick, 1 x ordinary, 1 x old ordinary (as detailed above)
2x jaycloths

in the sink there's a brush, a scourer sponge and a jay cloth (for worksurfaces, table and my coffee machine).

there are lots of other, older version of the same, under the sink for other jobs.
