Ugh. Not sure why I added the s on cow. But yay!!!

Was having a discussion with ancient colleague and Laos came up. He kept calling it layoss. And I kept calling it Laos. And it was awkward. I started to doubt myself. It could have been Riesling-gate all over again!

It's "louse" in vietnam movies, but "lau" in real life I think.

I once worked with an aussie who wasn't used to restaurants and civilisation etc. He ordered a fillet of turbot as "filly of turbo". He was known as FIHP (forced induction horse power) thereafter.

Littlesis was most upset when I burst into laughter when she was pondering whether to order the mer-lott.

She also felt a bit silly with the 35yo bf when she thought you pronounced the l in Norfolk.

I pronounce the "l" in Norfolk, mostly to show how little I care for those fulckers.

Isn't Norfolk shorthand for Northern Folk?
