TBH Laurie is being eclipsed by a whole new generation of millennial radical feelings havers, they're just becoming more tankie. If she's not careful she'll become a sort of Vivienne Westwood figure.

NOOOO!!! Don't say that she's being upstaged by the younger generation!

I can't really imagine her growing older.

It's actually not bad - if a bit trite. Not as loony as the title suggests.

"Sometimes we fail to be as fair and just as we would like to be – not because we set out to be bigots and bullies, but because we are working from assumptions we have internalised about race, gender and social difference. We learn patterns of behaviour based on bad, outdated information. That doesn’t make us bad people, but nor does it excuse us from responsibility for our behaviour. Algorithms are expected to update their responses based on new and better information, and the moral failing occurs when people refuse to do the same. If a robot can do it, so can we."

I'm pretty sure all the feelings-havers hate her now because she wrote some articles about Milo and the alt-right that attempted to understand them.

M8 - you need to start reading some Ellie Mae O'Hagan and Sam Kriss stuff. It's a delight.

With some added Abi Wilkinson and Liam Young for that frisson of arrogance mixed with labrador puppy enthusiasm.

Zactly PH. That and the fact you can tell she secretly likes Milo in a faintly stage struck way.

I stopped reading at that cos it's not true in my case. The rest of the article prob isn't true either.

Abi Wilkinson is a great Twitter follow for her definitely-not-made-up stories of encounters with Tories/posh people.

I don't know any of those names, except that I think I might have heard of Ellie Mae O'Hagan.

I'm out of touch these days.

Sam Kriss has an article entitled "Why I hate intellectuals", which sounds a bit "Pol Pot".

EMO'H's contribution to the £70k debate the other day was that of course that was super wealthy and to suggest otherwise was nonsense. When it was pointed out that full time childcare in London might account for half that, so was it really "rich", the response was "durr - that's cos childcare is really expensive not cos they're not rich"

I don't recommend reading any of EMOH literary outpourings. She should stick to contribution on current affairs - which is terrible but less vomit inducing.
