There was much excitement amongst young people this week, as a new CD (remember them?) was released by no less than the Head of Real Estate Dispute Resolution at DMH Stallard.

Martin Allen's new album, Rational Anthem, is a sort of prog-rock odyssey featuring jazzy rinky-dink piano, wailing violin and the backing vocals of Jack Cryer. That's Barry Cryer's daughter, no less and - yes! - that's a daughter called Jack. Anyway, here's Disciples of Nero, one of the new tracks.

Allen had spent a previously blameless career as a solicitor at the Gatwick based firm before releasing the work, which music industry insiders are claiming is the most notable addition to the Legal/Plod-Rock crossover scene since the Sheffield office of Kennedys released their mental Queen video.

Allen explains: "I want my lyrics to say something; the words to be as sonic as the melodies. And there’s a few things I needed to get off my chest!". Such as the environment: "The ice cap's melting, the sea is at your door". Heavy.

Excitingly, RollOnFriday has a copy of the album to give away as a prize. To win it, just tell us what your law-related band or album name would be. Early suggestions have included New Restraining Order, Gene Simmons & Simmons, DLA Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Jonny Halliwells. Plus the old chestnut of Bill Withers of course. Send in your suggestion here - and make sure you include your email address.
