A conveyancing solicitor has set up a new venture as a campsite proprietor in East Sussex.
David Briffa, solicitor at Child & Child in Knightsbridge (and self-confessed long-term Roffer) has launched
"Campfire Weekends
". The site is a short hop from London, is for adults only, has a big communal campfire and barbecue, eco-friendly sawdust loos and a bucket shower. David says that it's ideal for those who want to "
reconnect with nature
" for a weekend. All very Deliverance.
David's dog, Seamus, outside a tent yesterday
David told RollOnFriday that he's not put off by the prospect of having to empty the loos because "
working as a conveyancing solicitor means that big jobs land on my desk all the time
". Ewwww...
Any readers whose idea of relaxation is crapping in the woods and showering under a perforated bucket, should check out David's
site
and help him live the dream.

My island in Panama has similar facilities (or lack of them) and may be is a bit warmer. I recommend the Pacific Ocean over Essex.

I remember attending a gathering years ago where a compost loo was one of the main attractions. They are remarkabaly clean and smell-free. Also, if they are suitably fitted out, one can sit on a throne and admire the view at the same time.

Thank you for your comments, folks.
By a bizarre stroke of fate (perhaps the Almighty has a sense of humour) our household hot water system broke down this morning. I had to have a shower courtesy a kettle of hot water and and a garden watering can. Surprisingly efficacious! And my colleague, Ryan, on the desk opposite is extremely grateful I went to the trouble. This hot weather....
Yours,
