Nominate your secretary for an award

A recruitment consultancy has kicked off a national awards scheme for legal PAs.

The Legal PA Of The Year Awards 2012 have just been launched, and it takes a couple of minutes to nominate your secretary. There are four categories: "legal PA of the year", "legal PA manager of the year", "DP operator of the year" and "up and coming legal PA of the year". He or she probably won't thank you if you go for that last one.

Prizes on offer include a business class European trip, Eurostar tickets and a night in a smart London hotel. The recruiters, Strictly Legal (insert smutty joke about a prostitute's calling card), will be handing out the awards at a reception on 14th November and will be covering all the costs themselves. That's pretty much unheard of at a time when the words "legal" and "awards" are almost invariably accompanied by "£5,000 for a table at the Grosvenor House with some overcooked lamb, an unfunny comedian and a few bottles of vino collapso".

How it might look

A spokesman told RollOnFriday that they had done very well out of placing secretaries and wanted to give something back. Nominations close on 17th October. We'll publish a list of the winners.
