Three Bircham Dyson Bell lawyers who jumped ship for a land of milk and honey, otherwise known as Pinsent Masons, have changed their minds in less than a year and returned to BDB.

Last summer planning associates Ian Cameron, Sarah Clark and Tom Henderson all handed in their notices and followed three of their colleagues to Pinsents. But the great adventure didn't go as expected, because after less than 10 months the trio executed a swift about-turn and asked for their BDB passes back.

"It didn't look like this in the brochure"

A spokesman for Pinsents said, "We remain on good terms with the leavers and wish them all the best", but declined to say why they left screaming. Pinsents staff who wrote in to RollOnFriday's Firm of the Year survey offered up a few possibilities, though, including being "constantly beasted" and "senior associates so far up their own backside, they might find Narnia".

BDB head of planning Nick Brown said, "We are naturally very pleased to welcome Ian, Sarah and Tom back to BDB," before explaining to the runaway lawyers that they mustn't accept jobs from strange men on the phone.

This has happened at a few places recently, but with even shorter timeframes. CC & White & Case to name just two...

If it was a pay cut, draw your own conclusions about the atmosphere at Pinsents.
