Nabarro has become the latest firm to open up in Manchester, after nicking three real estate partner from Addleshaws.

Mark Haywood was Addleshaw's Head of Real Estate, so his departure will be keenly felt by a firm that has been going through the mill a bit recently. He is accompanied by fellow partners Nathan Jansen and Monica Brij, and presumably will shortly be joined by a number of associates. Graham Stedman, Nabarro's Senior Partner, said "Manchester is a dynamic market which we’ve been considering as a complementary hub to our Sheffield office for some time". And he'll be particularly delighted at the return of his prodigal son: Haywood used to work at Nabarro back in the day.

Haywood being greeted by Stedman yesterday. How it might have looked.

Nabarro is the latest in a number of firms to set out their stall in Manchester. Field Fisher has just merged with Heatons, TLT poached six partners and 24 other staff from Irwin Mitchell and Berwin Leighton Paisner has just opened an office in the City. Apparently the local real estate market for investors and developers is really kicking off and is now second only to London. It's jolly nice to see real estate finally picking up after years in the doldrums. Even if it's too late for the number of firms in the region that have recently gone under...
