Bond Dickinson has promoted an all-female group of associates into its partnership.

The firm made up four new partners in its 2014 round, all of whom are women. The feminine mood was reinforced by Managing Partner Jonathan Blair who said in a maternal statement, “this year's promotions reflect our commitment to nurturing and rewarding the talent we hold within the firm".

BD's promotion of women is positive news after some difficult times for staff. Mass layoffs followed Bond Pearce's merger with former Golden Turd winner Dickinson Dees last year, and there was considerable anger at a two tier bonus system. Of course keen Bond Dickinson watchers will have known since February that the tide has been turning in the firm's favour, when it proudly announced that it had won a place in a mysterious list of the "Top 25 Most Admired Companies".

The firm failed to respond to a request for comment.

I wonder why a law firm would issue a press release and then decline to comment on a good news story?

Good news in terms of equality, but in terms of geography it's clear that the days of this being a Newcastle headquartered law firm are long gone.

confusing. This is on the BD website with a link to a PR Guru. Why would they not comment?
