Celebrity divorce lawyer Raymond Tooth has been fined for ploughing into another man's car and driving off.

Tooth, nicknamed 'Jaws' for his tenacious courtroom manner, has acted for the spouses of celebrities including Colin Montgomerie and Michael Barrymore in their multi-million pound divorces. Now he has also shunted a VW Polo down the road while trying to park his Mercedes. CCTV footage shows the 74-year-old backing slowly into the space in Chelsea and then, when the manouvere is complete, inexplicably lurching backwards into the Polo, before speeding away.

"Honey, I'm home"

The Polo was written off but Tooth, whose motto is "Don't get even, get Tooth", didn't own up until police tracked him down and confronted him with the incriminating video. He was fined £600 after admitting driving without due care and attention and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Declining to explain why he fled without leaving a note under the wrecked car's windscreen, Tooth said, "All that happened was whilst parking in the middle of the day I reversed into a parked car, having suffered a severe abdominal pain seconds before".
