A contestant on the upcoming series of The Apprentice has boasted that she is a "glamorous solicitor" and that they are "in scarce supply".

Laura Riley, set to compete for a job selling surplus Amstrad fax-phones, made the claims in the run-up to her appearance on the show.

"Glamorous"? She doesn't even have a monobrow

Riley is a family law solicitor at Labrums LLP, a small St Albans firm. As the profiles on its website show, Riley is the only member of staff who has not opted for an unflattering shot in front of some Pick Up Sticks.

However, it takes more than a well-lit professional portrait to be accepted into the elite club of Glamorous Solicitors. In fact it often takes the exact opposite.

They're in a different league

Riley's personal website compensates for her fraudulent claims. An impressive array of adoring photographs of herself, along with pink exclamation marks and observations such as "Lauren is best described as a social butterfly and a whirlwind", mean Riley can legitmately call herself the proprietor of a Bonkers Law Firm Website. RollOnFriday boldly predicts that she will outlast her ex-Slaughter and May, ex-Latham & Watkins competitor.

I'd bet on her not surviving beyond what has in the past been a fatal first week for lawyers on the Apprentice

Reminds me of the morning after a night out with the lads when I turn over in bed - always blamed the poor lighting and copious amounts of Stella

"In her spare time, Laura enjoys airbrushing photographs and performing as a Lil Kim tribute act in pubs in St Albans and surrounding areas..."
