A Burges Salmon partner has a key role in Brad Pitt's new blockbuster.

Partner Will Woodall, who was an officer in the Royal Tank Regiment before becoming a real estate lawyer, moonlighted as a tank gunner on the set of Fury. The film tells the story of the eponymous tank's crew as they struggle to survive in the dying days of World War 2. Pitt plays an uncompromising sergeant and, far from being just an extra in the background, Woodall found himself operating Fury's gun and, as a swooning Burges Salmon insider put it, "sitting between Brad Pitt's legs" in a pivotal scene.

"Osborne Clarke at nine o'clock. Deploy the M1"

Fury, which debuted at No.1 at the US box office, has been praised by critics for its grimy authenticity, although it seems co-star Shia LaBeouf took things a step too far by declining to wash during the shoot and having one of his teeth pulled out. However, like a true professional, Woodall only had good things to say about the cast. Starstruck colleagues tell RollOnFriday that he found Pitt "extremely friendly" and "particularly respectful of those who had served in the forces". Though apparently Woodall was much more excited about getting to operate an original Sherman tank.

A spokeswoman for the firm said, "we hear that in return Brad Pitt has promised to play the character of Will when his biopic is produced".
