A barristers' debating society has challenged hearing people with a video in which they perform a new version of the Beach Boys song California Girls.

In their bid for a cup of Brian Wilson's tears, the members of the Inner Temple Debating Society turn the classic ode to surfer babes on its head with their self-described parody, The Boys at The Bar. Sponsored by Blackstone Chambers, the debaters use the original version's orchestral prelude but replace the Beach Boys' peerless harmonies with new voices and lyrics describing the eligibility of various types of male barrister. For Beach Boys fans, it's like meeting a beloved friend and realising a killer is wearing her face.

Muted version (sponsored by Blackstone):

The Lincoln's Inn guys are big Cosby fans, apparently

If you suffer from Ilex kiss, enjoy chastity

"Call the cops, she's out there again Gary."

It's still better than Mike Love

Filmed on location in Middle Temple

Congratulations to the Inner Temple Debating Society for doing the Beach Boys justice, cruel Old Testament justice. Sponsored by Blackstone.

"Lydia" might want to check who the credits at the end of this monstrosity before climbing on to her soapbox.

This video was taken down because it falsely suggested that it was sponsored by Blackstone Chambers, who were not best pleased at being associated with such appalling and unfunny tosh.
