A barristers' chambers has proudly produced a promotional beer glass which includes the claim that solicitors "couldn't give a XXXX for anyone else".

A source told RollOnFriday that the glasses were produced with a view to the set offering a Direct Access service in competition with solicitors. However a spokesman for the chambers says they were actually created for a charity pub quiz "exclusively for solicitors". He said the beer glasses were "a light-hearted way of helping our guests – many of whom will not have known each other – to 'break the ice'".

All solicitors everywhere declined to comment.

The allegation that these glasses were produced with a view to being in competition with solicitors is absurd. The phrase on the glass is clearly a tongue in cheek reference to solicitors' using Broadway House Chambers as their favorite set. Any suggestion otherwise is nonsense.
