A lawyer-turned-Lego sculptor is exhibiting a show in London which could prove a dangerous temptation to fellow solicitors.

Nathan Sawaya quit being an attorney at Winston & Strawn in 2011 and wisely invested in hundreds of buckets of Lego. He found employment as a master builder at Legoland in California before leaving to become an independent artist working solely in the medium of brightly-coloured plastic bricks.

Riding the nostalgia wave has paid off and Sawaya's worldwide tour has been delighting big kids at the Old Truman Brewery in Spitalfields, which just happens to be five minutes' walk away from several law firms including Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith Freehills and Ashurst. A recent visitor spotted the terrifying work below, which may be of particular interest to lawyers on their lunch break.



Apparently it represents Sawaya's departure from Winston & Strawn, which is presumably delighted that an alumnus is touring the world with a huge bit of art depicting his departure as a desperate escape.



Sawaya told RollOnFriday, "I encourage people to find and follow their own passions, no matter what they do for a living." And while he chose Lego, he was keen to emphasise that "everyone has to find their unique road to happiness". So it could be Duplo, then, or Technics.
