Nabarro is the first firm to decide where to send its students following the collapse of Kaplan Law School.

Last week RollOnFriday broke the news that Kaplan was closing. It will teach one more year then shut its doors next September. Absurdly, it described its failure as an "exciting opportunity". Its implosion meant Kaplan's eight client firms were suddenly up for grabs. RollOnFriday predicted that all of them would be receiving immediate, loving calls from ULaw and BPP. One firm has already been swayed. While ULaw managed to tempt Trowers & Hamlins from Kaplan while it was still going, BPP has won the first post-Kaplan bout.

Remember ULaw, there are still seven rounds to go

A spokeswoman for Nabarro said that the firm had "carefully considered options in the best interests" of its students and future trainees, and was "happy" to announce that with effect from 1 September 2015 it would be sending them to BPP for their LPC. The LPC will still be dull though. Nothing can change that.

Round one: ULaw 0 BPP 1.
