RollOnFriday understands that a partner at White & Case's Paris office has been formally indicted on a harassment charge.

The unnamed partner hit the headlines last year when a former associate at the firm sued him. She claimed that the partner had publicly embarrassed her by making lewd comments on her appearance, and by suggesting that she enjoyed having "big Blacks' big dicks" in her bottom. The partner accepted that he had used crude language but denied that it constituted harassment. No doubt it was all just office banter. Presumably he isn't about to instruct Charlotte Proudman any time soon...

The partner's brief pointed out that the public prosecutor had concluded on three separate occasions that the charges should be dismissed. But they weren't. In February the Appeal Court confirmed that the case should be heard. And RollOnFriday understands that the partner has now been formally indicted by a French magistrate.

A spokesman for the firm said "we are unable to comment due to legal confidentiality requirements".
