Hogan Lovells has paid tribute to an associate named as one of the victims of the Paris terror attacks.

Valentin Ribet was 26 years old and a solicitor in the firm's Paris office. Specialising in white collar crime, he studied at the London School of Economics. He was described by the firm as, "a talented lawyer, extremely well liked, and a wonderful personality in the office".

Ribet was killed in the attack carried out by three gunmen at the Bataclan concert hall in which 89 people died.

In a statement, Hogan Lovells said the firm was "greatly saddened" by the loss of Ribet. "This is an awful tragedy and hard for any of us to truly comprehend", it said. "Our thoughts at this time are with Valentin and his family as well as with his colleagues in the office and across the firm".

In an email to staff, CEO Steve Immelt and Chair Nicholas Cheffings described how the Paris office had been overwhelmed by messages of support from both Hoglove staff and also from clients and other firms. "We are not alone in our grief", they said, "nor in our determination to live like civilized people".

RIP chap. That's no age at all. And I know that age of the deceased should make no difference, but still....
RIP all of you.
