The UK government has asked Slaughter and May to advise on the consequences of assassinating Donald Trump.

An explosive letter from the Foreign Office to the Magic Circle firm reveals that an unnamed MP asked it last December to explore the "legal ramifications" of torpedoing the election of The Donald by blackmailing Republican delegates or lacing Trump's steaks with poison.

Over the last year the outspoken billionaire has dominated the race to become the Republican nominee for President with promises to ban Muslims and force Mexico to "build a great, great wall on our southern border". His controversial behaviour has delighted disenfranchised voters but appalled others, including foreign leaders. Earlier this year David Cameron branded Trump "stupid and wrong" over his "divisive" comments about British Muslims. But the heavily-redacted letter leaked to RollOnFriday exposes a shocking escalation of his opposition to Trump.
 
The options presented in the letter are extraordinary, ranging from funding anti-Trump campaigns to blowing up the tiny-handed misogynist by rigging his golf clubs with explosives.
