The MD of a Northampton law firm has released an inspirational film comparing himself to a panther.

In his unconvincing Youtube video, Floyd Graham of FG Solicitors lists all the ways great employment lawyers (like him, for example) are like panthers. Sitting proudly next to a pyramid of green sponges, Graham begins, "We believe that the panther demonstrates a lot of the key characteristics" that lawyers for employers should have.

    A panther

As his chair creaks because he's a well-fed panther, Graham explains that, like panthers, "as lawyers, we are naturally determined to achieve the outcome that our clients want us to achieve". Graham doesn't elaborate on who is instructing panthers.

Graham continues, "I think we are sure-footed [LIKE A PANTHER], in that we will always achieve those results for our clients".  A good employment lawyer is also like a panther because it is, famously, a "good listener", and "outcomes focused". Wikipedia notes that when the mythical panther roars, its sweet-smelling breath draws in other creatures which it then devours, but Graham doesn't raise that as a similarity.

     A partner

However, Graham doesn't overlook panther as predator. In a litigious situation, "where the employee becomes the enemy", Graham will eat them. Or, as he puts it, "use the required levels of aggression, and I mean that sincerely in that what I'm actually saying is that an employee should know that an employer will be fair, but the employer will stand their ground if they need to". With Floyd poised on a branch above, ready to leap, and feed.
