A leading partner at White & Case had to be separated from a pisshead in a bar after teaching him in a lesson in manners.

Two weeks ago the firm's Paris office had an open bar after work. A source says that an intern in the Corporate and Capital Markets team and a friend of his (unconnected with the firm) had one too many Kronenbourgs and became very lairy. When the intern's friend started punching the table, staff asked him to leave. He then pushed the intern and a partner from another department waded in and gave him a tongue lashing. The source says, the "shit hit the fan. Insults were flowing from both sides" When the drunkard suggested that he looked forward to enjoying carnal knowledge of the partner's mother, the rest of White & Case pulled them apart. He was ejected from the building and presumably everybody cheered.

Friday night at White & Case. How it might have looked.

The firm acknowledged the incident but denied that the partner had to be separated from the lout. A spokesman said ‘a man who isn’t an employee of White & Case was asked to leave because he was acting in an antisocial manner to the discomfort of both venue staff and White & Case personnel. A Firm partner had a verbal exchange with this man before the man was escorted out by venue staff. While being escorted out, the man pushed a Firm employee. There was no physical contact between our partner and anyone else. Staff at the venue thanked our partner for his role in the situation and the matter is now closed.’

Surely the title should read "W&C Partner involved in bar altercation". If the article is correct there was no 'brawl' and he definitely didn't .break anything up'.
