Berwin Leighton Paisner has been employing an actor dressed as a ghost to advertise its services.

The actor was spotted standing outside the firm's London offices last week in full costume and make up. He was holding up a sign saying "Haunted by past legal decisions? Step inside."

A spokeswoman said that it was designed to promote BLP's "Busy Lawyers Programme", a half-day seminar which this year focuses on "decisions and mistakes that come back to haunt the GC" such as "data nightmares". See what they did there?

The firm has also produced a video clip to promote the event. It stars what appears to be a tax associate after one too many all nighters.

It is an unusual approach to marketing. But probably more successful that Ince & Co's most recent effort, where it had the cojones to claim that it was second only to the Red Cross in "handling disasters and crises around the globe".
