The Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of BPP has left the business overnight without explanation.
BPP announced that Carl Lygo had decided to leave all his posts with immediate effect. In a statement released by BPP late on Wednesday, Lygo said "I will now focus the next part of my career on charitable and community work". In an email to staff he said, "I have recently become the Chairman of a School's Charity working with disadvantaged children in Kent and I want to devote the next part of my career to this area".
BPP has scrambled to replace Lygo with Tim Stewart, a longtime manager who worked under Lygo (not literally, that would be horrible) and will act as its interim CEO and Vice Chancellor. It means that in the last 12 months BPP has lost its CFO, CEO and COO. The university declined to comment on the reasons for Lygo's rapid departure.
Lygo worked at BPP for 20 years and was nothing if not proud of his achievements there. He even set up a toe-curling website to record them all, although it has not been updated to reflect the fact that he will now be spending time with his charity causes. Fans should visit carllygo.com while they still can to enjoy such sections as Carl Lygo - Early Years and Lygofacts such as:

Someone's been watching too much Anchorman...I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany...
