A counsel at Latham & Watkins is standing for UKIP in the general election.

Tim Page, who is a counsel at the US firm's London office, is standing for parliament in the Wiltshire constituency of Devizes. The lawyer, a former Clifford Chance partner who spent 14 years at the homegrown British firm before he left to work for foreigners, will need all the luck of the Irish* to win the Tory safe seat. UKIP candidate David Pollitt came a distant second in the 2015 general election, taking a 15% share of the Devizes vote compared to the Conservative's 58%. Pollitt recently lost his place as a member of Wiltshire Council, telling the Times before he was jettisoned, “Everyone knows I’m not racist. I’m not xenophobic either".

RollOnFriday put a series of questions to corporate specialist Page for the benefit of his potential constituents and Latham & Watkins colleagues, but he did not respond. So we simply wrote the answers for him:

A spokesman for Latham & Watkins declined to comment.

It's a cliche, but this article exemplifies why people voted Brexit. Intolerant at best, bullying at worst.

People voting to leave a complex supranational organisation on the basis of feelings are the stupidest sort of losers

Surprised he didn't answer, if I'm honest. A good chance to score some points against some easily-handled straw men questions.

Brexit = criminal damage. Why didn't Brexiteers just go down the bookies or get a tattoo done, exchange ill-informed opinions over cheap beer in Wetherspoons, then watch football Sky or X-Factor until they fall asleep like every other day. Why?
