As trainees across the land prepare to jump into office cupboards to re-emerge as fully qualified solicitors, the latest set of retention results have been announced. Hogan Lovells, Eversheds and White & Case have all performed very well. Huzzah!

HogLove has posted a retention rate of 80% as 24 of 30 trainees will be qualifying with the firm this autumn. One of the brood is an ex-KWM trainee who was rescued by HogLove when KWM collapsed. The silver circle firm has had a good year for retention as it posted a 79% score in the spring. The firm also fared well in the RollOnFriday Firm of the Year survey, with one lawyer enthusing that there is "a surprisingly decent cock:legend ratio" at HogLove.

Eversheds Sutherland has also announced a solid retention rate of 80% as the firm will be taking on 44 of its 55 trainees. The merged firm that was created in February this year has had a solid year for retention as it took on 100% of its trainees in the spring. And things seem to be on the up at the Shed as one lawyer said in the RollOnFriday Firm of the Year survey that "the firm's come a long way since the Dark Ages of 07-10".

White & Case will retain 83% of its London trainees as 15 of 19 trainees were offered and accepted positions at the firm.  The firm's culture came in for high praise in the RollOnFriday Firm of the Year Survey, even though it seems US lingo is seeping into the vernacular with lawyers describing their colleagues as "awesome", "cool" and "office besties".

Any reason why Gowling WLG hasn't been added to the graphic even though their results have been published?
