A Shoosmiths lawyer is one of three people to have been killed when their sightseeing helicopter crashed in the Grand Canyon.

Jason Hill, a senior associate at Shoosmiths, died in the crash alongside his brother Stuart and Stuart's girlfriend, Becky Dobson. Three of their friends survived the crash but are injured, including Jennifer Barham who is a corporate partner at Bircham Dyson Bell.

The six friends had been on a holiday to the U.S. to celebrate the 30th birthday of Stuart. David and Sandra Hill, Jason and Stuart's parents, said in a statement to the Foreign Office that their children "were wonderful sons, inseparable brothers and just remarkable people who were truly loved and will be deeply missed by so many, many people". They added "our hearts go out to Becky's family at this terrible time" and that they were praying for the recovery of their sons' three injured friends.

Jason joined Shoosmiths as a trainee and qualified in the corporate department in Milton Keynes in 2011. Claire Rowe, Shoosmiths’ chief executive told RollOnFriday that Jason "was well respected and loved by all those who worked with him at the firm". She said that he "was hardworking, full of energy and enjoyable to work with, and we are greatly saddened by the news of his death and that of his brother Stuart. Our immediate thoughts are with their family at this very difficult and tragic time".

A Bircham Dyson Bell spokeswoman told RollOnFriday that the firm's thoughts "are with all those affected at this difficult time and we send our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident". She added that they "are doing everything we can" to support Barham's family, friends and colleagues.

Their poor parents...I cannot imagine losing one of my children but to lose two at once is just unspeakable.

Worked with both Jason and Jenny when they were in the Southampton office at Shoosmiths. Lovely people and awful news.
