A legal consultancy has jettisoned profiles of lawyers from its website in favour of entertainers and models.

Virgo Consultancy Services, which has an office in Brixton and one in Barry, Wales, offers legal advice in a variety of areas including asylum, crime and extradition. Its strapline is, "If you need legal advice, we’re here to help you". But uniquely in the profession, Virgo is also here to help you if you want to hire Sugar Roy and the Fireball Crew to perform at your birthday party.

Nestled in Virgo's list of practice areas between 'International Law' and 'Mediation' is 'Talent Management'. "With a reach that covers the globe", proclaims Virgo, "if you wish to provide first class entertainment to captivate your audience, then Virgo People is the right place to start". As such, there are no lawyers listed in the People section. Instead it is given over to Virgo's roster of talent in the fields of public speaking, acting, entertaining and modelling.

Virgo's motivational speakers "will enhance your event and captivate your audience", although they're a bit thin on the ground at the moment. There's currently just Yasus Afaria, author of "Overstanding Rastafari – Jamaica’s Gift to the World", who is "Aware and conscious of his responsibility as an agent of change and positivity", and 1993 WBO Featherweight Champion Steve Robinson.

Presume that's a typo.

It has many more artists "ready to entertain you", and their profiles are a considerable improvement on the average law firm's, which almost never sum up staff's philosophies, describe their spiritual journeys or hype their dancehall bangers.

"A body of work that inspires deep and pure meditation which signals to have an infinite life span."

"Most recognised for his debut hit single ‘Talk Out Loud’, which received six weeks consecutive air time on Sky’s Soccer AM show in 2006. Exceptional talent and affection for the fans? What’s not to love?"

"Stream – the next great thing to flow from the rocky springs of Jamaica."

"Raised as a Seventh Day Adventist her faith is integral to the message and the music as Phee Phee seeks to honour the Creator and Highest Supreme Being."

"Teflon scored his first number one song and video when he released 'Gun Rise', on the 'Bullet Proof Vest' riddim in 2007."

Law firms all contain at least one person with the maturity of a 5 year old, but Virgo is the only one to actually offer their services on that basis.

Having a 'Models' section does mean, however, that Virgo's profiles are 100% easier on the eye than their legal competitors'.

    But can he paginate?

A boxset of Toast to Virgo. Write in if you've seen a Bonkers Law Firm Website.
