Twin sisters who work at a Dubai law firm have been sentenced to jail for assaulting a police officer.

37-year-olds Alena and Sasha Parker were arrested and charged with "roguish behaviour" earlier this year after the pair became intoxicated on a night out. Alena hurt her hand, and when a paramedic tried to help her one of the sisters (who knows which) slammed the ambulance door on his hand.

The police were called. One told the Dubai Criminal Court that Sasha Parker was standing next to the ambulance "screaming". She said the pair resisted arrest and back at the station attacked, scratched and pushed her to the floor, injuring her elbow and head. The Parkers pleaded not guilty.

Judge Shaikha Hamad said the evidence was "strong and solid", just like the plumber in any good porn movie. He sentenced the pair to six months in prison for assault, after which they will be deported from the UAE.

Originally from Belarus, the pair paid their way through London colleges by starring in a number of adult movies such as London Shaggers ("Double the pleasure, double the fun") and Lock, Cock and Two Smoking Bimbos. Having undertaken degrading and painful acts for money, a career in law beckoned, although neither of them qualified.

Both sisters still appear on the website of Dubai firm Al Safar, where Alena is described as a senior consultant and Sasha as a case manager who specialises in servicing clients. According to the firm's website, Alena passed the LPC at the University of Westminster and Sasha took a Bachelors in Law, Government and Politics plus a diploma in real estate law from one of the UK's less known colleges, the London School of Law. Al Safar did not respond to a request for comment.

Perhaps they can return to porn, which according to ex-law student Ella Hughes is less boring and pays better.

I like that when i visit the "London School of law" webpage, it asks "Like to gain Degree?". Clearly a remarkable institute of higher learning.

Despite the obvious hilarity here, including the reference to the "UK's less known colleges" [sic], every time I see the words "Dubai" and "justice" in the same sentence, I shudder.

Would not wish that 'court system' on my enemies ...

Does no one else find this story really sad? Why is it funny? They have a kangaroo court system and apparently hellish prisons. So, having degraded themselves for money in the hope of a better life, the sisters get pissed and find themselves in a hellhole with both careers ruined. The only consolation for them could be that they have each other's company.
