A Hong Kong couple are suing their neighbours for hanging bras and pointing their shoes at their flat which they claim creates bad feng shui.

Lau Yiu-hung and Maria Lam Man-kwan have issued a nuisance-claim against their neighbours, a family of four. The couple's grievances include a complaint that their neighbours have installed illegal metal hangers and racks on the external wall facing their flat, where they hang bras to dry. The claimants allege that the displaying of bras and underwear is bad feng shui, and can bring bad luck. They also refer to feng shui guidelines that supposedly dictate that shoes should never point to another flat, because the tip of the shoes direct bad luck.

They litigant couple are seeking compensation and an order that the family stops its actions, having already made numerous unsuccessful complaints to the property managers and police.

As part of the compensation requested, the claimants say that they suffered emotional and mental distress and had to move into a hotel for three weeks, costing them HKD16,000.

I don't think this is mocking cultural sensitivities, I am Chinese and I know no one taking Feng Shui to that ridiculous level, fortunately!
