RollOnFriday is kicking off its 2010 salaried partner pay survey - so click here salaried partners / well informed associates to send in anonymous details of your firm and pay packet.

After last week's bumper promotion round at Kirkland & Ellis, many have suggested that the step up to salaried partnership at K&E doesn't amount to much more than a new business card and the keys to the stationery cupboard. And that seems to be the case at many firms. Rumours abound that, prior to its collapse, newly made up partners at Halliwells had the privilege to receive a hefty cut on their associate salaries. And the results of RoF's 2008 survey showed that a newly-minted partner at Hammonds took home about as much as a NQ at a US firm.

Making a pact with the devil: how it works

And even that is losing its lustre, with several firms remaining tight lipped about just how much wedge they actually hand over. And then of course booting out partners with abandon a few years down the line.
