Jauregui Navarrete & Nader has become the first Mexican firm to set up shop in London. Arriba!

The firm - under Managing Partner Yves Hayaux du Tilly  - will be providing Mexican legal advice to its existing European clients with a focus on insurance and reinsurance matters, according to a report in Legal Week. But while it may be a pioneering move, it's not a very big one - the firm predicts that within just two year its office will be staffed by, err, three to five Mexican lawyers.

Hayaux du Tilly said "we have been working with London based international firms on a number of insurance and reinsurance cases for some time and we decided to take the opportunity to get closer to them and develop other areas of practice involving Mexico."

Maybe the firm is taking a rather more literal interpretation of the "Mexican wave" model of farming out boring less high grade work out to smaller outfits, much loved by City firms.
