A lawyer who claims The Wolf of Wall Street mocks his hair loss and portrays him as a cocaine-snorting degenerate is suing the filmmakers for $25 million.

Andrew Greene says he also wants the film, which is based on the memoirs of fraudulent stockbroker Jordon Belfort, to be withdrawn from cinemas. Greene's complaint alleges that the character Nicky Koskoff, nicknamed 'Rugrat' because of his obvious hairpiece, is based on him. Greene was head of corporate finance at Belfort's securities brokerage in the 1990s and claims he was nicknamed 'Wigwam' at the company because he often wore a syrup.

    Rugrat and Wigwam

In the movie Koskoff is shown taking cocaine, having sex with prostitutes in the office and shaving a secretary's head in front of co-workers so she can win $10,000 for breast implants. Greene's lawsuit says the film makes him look like, "a criminal, drug user, degenerate, depraved, and/or devoid of any morality or ethics". He is particularly annoyed by the way other characters treat his hair loss. “Rugrat’s’ use of a toupee is accentuated and mocked in an egregiously offensive manner", according to his complaint. "The motion picture introduces ‘Rugrat’ by referencing his ‘piece of shit hairpiece.’ In another scene, investigators ask whether his hair is real. Characters are also seen attempting to grab the toupee.

Greene is the second person to criticise his portrayal in the movie. Danny Porush, played by Jonah Hill in the film, denies having a threesome with Belfort or taking drugs, although he admits that he did swallow a colleague's live goldfish, so that's OK.

Number of people who drew a link between him and film before this: 2. Including his wife. Who only drew the link because he mentioned it to her.
Number of people now aware, and laughing that this poindexter could even possibly be considered to a wild man: A lot, lot more.
Own goal, Speccy.
