What should you have done instead of City law?

Typically rather witty answers on here but can I (as a nonlawyer) gently point out to you all that you can take a leaf out of the Americans' book and go do something else? Don't conflate the journey with the destination: being a lawyer now doesn't mean being one forever. Just don't aim for a Laz type number of destinations at once perhaps...

But if I hadn’t done provincial law I would have usurped Christopher Martin-Jenkins as cricket correspondent of the BBC.

This whole board is like a ridiculously privileged version of the bar in Billy Joel's Piano Man.
