A New York judge has been given a bashing in the press for keeping a penis lightswitch in his court.
Attorney Lauren Garvey told the New York Post that Judge Martin Ritholtz "made a mockery" of the rule of law by allowing a drawing of a cartoon man to be stuck over the court lightswitch, which made the switch look like a willy.
Garvey said that Ritholtz "laughed" when she complained to him, then told her a story about a witness who "was on the stand and her phone started vibrating and she called it her vibrator" (pause for laughter).
Although Ritholtz told Garvey he would "look into trying" to get the sticker removed, a year later it was still on the wall, which appears to have sent a furious Garvey to the Post. At first Ritholtz told reporters his favourite sticker had been removed. When they pointed out that it hadn't he said, "the problem is, I'm a very busy judge". He also denied telling Garvey the vibrator anecdote, and although other lawyers who were present insisted that he had, they also explained, "he's an old-time judge".

Yes, he may force people to arouse a cartoon. But he does have a calculator watch. |
