A law firm has expressed shock after being inundated with racist taunts on social media.
Manchester firm Carter Law, which specialises in advising Muslims on divorces and family law, posted an advert on Facebook which read, “Seeking advice on Islamic Family Law, Talaq or Khula? Carter Law will ensure your family matters are dealt with in a Sharia compliant way”. Two readers soon chipped in with their own advice:
Then another true patriot piped up, suggesting, “There is only one law in the UK, abide by it or GTF OUT”. Carter Law gamely responded, “The services we are offer aren’t about circumventing UK law. These legal services are fully compliant with the rule of UK law, but also with the beliefs of our Muslim clients for their peace of mind. Thank you for your valuable input, though”.
But the first rule of the internet is that no-one changes their mind (the second is 'cats'), and soon more furious Christian soldiers piled in. One trainee judge simply smashed out, "ONE LAW IN THIS COUNTRY”. Another accused the firm's staff of being "traitors".
Carter Law's Search Engine Optimisation Specialist (yes, it has one) Jack MacMichael said the firm was “extremely shocked at the racist reactions". He said commenters "seem to believe that there is some sinister parallel legal system for Muslims, but the services that we’re advertising are within the bounds of the law of England and Wales. They simply meet the needs of observant Muslim clients". MacMichael added, “We’re all entitled to an opinion, but to see such unashamedly racist comments in a public forum wasn’t a pleasant experience”.

- “You need to take your ISLAMIC business and go back to the country you came from."
- “ISLAM has NO PLACE in OUR COUNTRY we are CHRISTIANS and will remain CHRISTIANS.”
