A judge has stunned a courtroom by calling a defendant "a bit of a cunt".
When Judge Patricia Lynch QC sentenced John Hennigan to 18 months in prison, he informed her she was "a bit of a cunt". To which she replied, "You are a bit of a cunt yourself. Being offensive to me doesn't help". Hennigan then shouted, "Go f*** yourself", and she retorted, "You too".
Hennigan reacted by banging on the glass screen of the dock, performing a Nazi salute, shouting "Sieg Heil" and singing, "Jews, gas them all". Judge Lynch calmly responded, "We are all really impressed. Take him down".
Hennigan was being convicted for for his ninth breach of an ASBO banning him from acting in an anti-social way or using racist language. He had insulted a black woman by telling her, "I don't agree with inter-racial relationships. I like natural", clarifying, "I prefer white children". He has 23 convictions for 47 offences, most of which involved racism and Nazi salutes.
Even the Judicial Office struggled to believe the exchange had occurred. Telling RollOnFriday it had, "no comment to make on the report", a spokesman added that it was, "checking to see if it is factually correct".

The fact that this is an offence is the most outrageous part of the story.
