All this talk about tourism to the EU

And yet you basically cannot enter the UK if you're living in the EU without quarantining, even if you're fully vaccinated.

And yet there is outrage about some EU countries not letting EU tourists in.

Bit hypocritical, no?

It’s things like this that make me embarrassed to admit that I’m British when in Europe. We are hated like nothing else. All good will for saving them in two world wars and inventing football and the Beatles has been lost.

OD get over yourself. Yes the travel policy and commentary about it is dumb, but we are not hated like nothing else in Europe. I spend more time in Europe than you do and that is not my experience. Maybe you just give off a bad vibe.

Eurovision was always a joke in Britain until the gheys took it up, and they took it up because it was camp crap pop music and they was being ironic. Pop and rock eluded Europe. And why would they be interested? After Bach, Beethoven and Weimar.

I don’t give off a bad vibe, man. People ask me where I’m from, I say Britain, and then they side eye each other as if they wish they’d never asked. It’s mainly Brexit, and also the hostile environment policy and sending tourists to illegal immigrant detainment centres without any good reason. Everybody I speak to there seems to know somebody that has happened to when arriving in the U.K.

There is basically no incoming tourism in the UK currently. I guess that part of the economy does not matter?

How funny that the UK expects other countries to open up for it.

Yeah I’ve noticed this. There’s a bit of chatter in travel sites but not much else. Given that international visitors are a huge part of the U.K. tourism industry I hope they’re let in soon.
