Are you targeting owning 2-3 high performance electric cars in the coming years

Sure.

Convert to biodiesel first, as Rudolf always intended.

It is very environmentally unfriendly to scrap functioning vehicles. More energy is required for the manufacture of a new car than most cars will use in their lifetime

But all the virtue- signallers will doubtless carry on

Do you actually think people are dumping their dinosaur fuel cars to buy electric rather than selling them on to see out their useful lives in the 2nd hand market?

I'm targeting owning no cars, but if I have kids I may surrender and end up getting one low performance one for when a cargo bike/public transport won't do the job.

why would anyone positively target not owning a car?

I currently lack a car because my life circumstances would render owning one pointless, but I regard the situation as anomalous and look forward to buying one again when we return to the U.K.

in dubai the cars are becoming self driving -  one in 20 taxis by 2023, one in 10 by 2025

this will go for private cars too by 2030. aiming for about 10% private cars on auto by 2030

@Laz because they're bad for the environment and shit up cities. That's not to say that they're not necessary, but it would make me a hypocrite living in London not to at least aim not to have one.

Also, if you can live without one you save a good deal of money.

I quite enjoy driving.

But owning cars is pointless.

I own them at the moment just as I have kids and its easier. But they grow up and I won't need a car.

I can afford to live in a city with a tube and buses and uber. If I really need one, I'll hire it and get it delivered and picked up.

More hassle than it's worth.
