Capt Rosie Wild

First woman to pass P Company assessment and receive her maroon beret from the Royal Parachute Regiment. She also passed out of Sandhurst in 2017 with the sword of honour. She will continue to serve in her existing regiment and will be attached to 16th Air Assault Brigade.
Awesome breaking down of the barriers moment.

Heh. When did you do p-coy Laz?
oh no, that was Tecco wasn’t it.

I had the privilege of jumping out of a plane with six lads serving in 2 Para in 2011 and the cup of tea and chat before, and in the plane and after the jump, (plus my respect for the friend who set it up - a former Colonel in 2 P) has taught me a lot about this very extraordinary slice of our military. Utterly extraordinary. They redefine the term commitment and most had seen very difficult early tours in Afghanistan.

I’ve jumped out of a plane once (with a small australian man strapped to my back) but I certainly wouldn’t try to make a career of it m99

As previously posted on rof I once went as a young lad to Cheeks nightclub in aldershot with the rugby lads.  Copped off with a young lady who after a while said 'I' d better go back to my husband and his mates'. Clearly all paras (this was a long time ago when aldershot was home to them and the ghurkas, think it is now just the catering corps).  Have never been so drunk sober.  Spent the rest of the evening hiding behind Big Mungo and watching the cage dancers.

Well done to her. When I read the list of tasks that she had to complete in order to qualify, I thought they were surprisingly easy. Have they dumbed things down recently? Very good for a female performance though.

Sure these things are a breeze especially when the timed runs are done when everyone is well rested, perky and fresh. If only they had to run everywhere in 40+ lbs of kit all the time do multiple “acquaints”, “warm-ups” and beastings to make it more interesting. My granny is at risk of passing PCoy  at this rate just from shuffling to the local shop.
