Nadal very unlikely to win another slam on a hard court, but if Novak’s supplements vaccine status prevents him from playing in Paris then Rafa could hit 21 there.
I actually think it would be quite cool if they finished level on 20 each. If Rafa gets 21 here, I think he does go GOAT despite a few holes in his record - total slams plus the career double grand slam I think is enough. Only question mark would be the Roland Garros skew but he'd probably argue that 13 on clay is no worse really than the other 2 are on hard courts.
The other points is his favour are he did it while constantly getting injured and having to deal with full prime Federer and then full prime Djokovic.
I don’t think the Roland Garros skew matters. The only one of the 4 slams that carries less currency than the others is the Aussie Open. You could argue that the fact that Rafa only has 1 Aussie Open title means his 20 are of a better calibre than the others.

But Novax seems more interested in anti vax fannery now so possibly won't win again .
Did he not have a massive 2 year slump before from 2016-18 that was later revealed to be largely for psychological reasons ?

Who was allegedly boning their way around Asia? Djoko or Rafa? Clearly missed this.
My instinct is Nadal will crank out a couple more in Paris and have the best claim but be so clay skewed there’s still scope for debate.
If there were clay slams imagine where he’d be, absolutely mental.
