I am calling it - going to work, chatting with colleagues , having lunch out maybe a drink after work and then arriving home at around 7.30 after a full day more fulfilling and generally better than sitting in my spare bedroom in front of a screen all day, even if I can be all done by 5pm.

Office day is often my favourite working day of the week now
Except for the awful commute which I've made worse by buying a place miles away for more sq ft to the £

We have done this in Dubai since forever
this is a London thing

not x5 days a week
2 in 3 @ home suits me best
If i were young and or single then 4/1 3/2 would be better

Yeah I enjoy my days in the office.
Get in, shake a few hands, chin a few beers, be social.
Then home days to smash work out.
I think the people who prefer just working at home or just working in the office are outliers, most prefer a mix.

I'm working from Dubai today. It's shit.

It's very pleasant going in a couple of times a week, but the fact that it only has to be a couple of times a week is what keeps it being pleasant.
Commuting daily use to make me absolutely miserable. I often stayed in the office longer just because I didn't want to deal with the journey home.

yes mix is best, you get more done at home and hvae more time in evenings for other stuff but actually prefer working days in office than home

The tube is still much less crowded than before Covid. I generally like going into the office these days, but if the tube becomes as busy as it used to be, I might reassess my preferences ...

My trains in have been empty until last week when I got one of the first off-peak ones in and it was heaving.
Seems like mainline rush hour has shifted to 10-11am as people figure no-ones paying attention to when they arrive at the office exactly so might as well go cheaply.

I'd happily go in, but we are still reduced to about 25% of desk space being allowed to be used and they're constantly booked up.

All the malingerers at my shop are claiming there aren't enough desks so they can't get booked in. It hasn't been full once yet though so something not quite adding up.

I will be applying for software development jobs before too long, and I won’t be applying ones that specify remote working (well, not until all the ones that don’t have rejected me).

My shop has finally ordered an end to WFH. It will only be allowed now as per the pre-pandemic policy.

u might struggle laz, my company is half developers and i haven't seen a single one in person in 18 months.
though i guess if you find a place that is insisting devs come in there will be very low competition for the job

yeah I don’t want to be the kind of dev who just works on his own the whole time
I want face to face scrums

"It hasn't been full once yet though so something not quite adding up"
we thankfully defo don't work together, but the same phenomenon at my firm is explained by idiots who book desks then decide at the last minute to wfh anyway
